How we built the T20 authority
Building a T20-only fantasy authority means obsessing over the format rather than chasing breadth. Our engineering team obsesses over the difference between powerplay aggression and death-overs mayhem - because in T20, the captain who reads the phase wins. Our content team writes matchup primers for every IPL fixture, BBL qualifier, SA20 playoff, and T20 World Cup group game. Our analytics team refines the captain engine after every tournament, recalibrating the venue model against actual scoring data. That level of focus is what separates T20Sports Fantasy from multi-sport platforms that treat T20 as one of seven tabs.
The platform now hosts 2.4M+ registered users across 184 employees. We serve daily-match contests for IPL, BBL, SA20, CPL, T20 Blast, ILT20, BPL, and a dozen bilateral T20I series. Each contest type has its own prize structure, its own captain multipliers, and its own leaderboard refresh cadence. Mega contests run Rs 50 lakh guaranteed pools; head-to-head contests go for as little as Rs 10. Practice contests are free forever. Season-format contests pool Rs 2 crore across the IPL calendar alone. Every contest is built around the same premise: T20 is the shortest, most explosive format, and the platform should respect that energy.
We publish a quarterly transparency report covering responsible play, win distributions, and bonus utilization. The latest report shows 91% of winning entries had KYC verified before match start, 99.2% of deposits cleared within 60 seconds, and zero unresolved withdrawal tickets older than 24 hours. Our captain analytics engine accuracy sits at 78% for top-pick selections - meaning our top consensus captain finishes in the top-10% of fantasy scorers 78% of the time. Our roadmap for 2027 includes white-label licensing for international cricket boards, voice-controlled captain pick in regional Indian languages, and a multi-language UI covering Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Bengali. Series B funding is targeted for Q2 2027 to support these initiatives. We will not, however, dilute the T20 focus by adding football or kabaddi - the bet we made in March 2023 is the bet we are doubling down on now.

T20Sports Fantasy was founded by three Bengaluru-based cricket enthusiasts who wanted a fantasy platform that treated T20 cricket as a distinct discipline rather than just another cricket format. Anirudh Mehta had been at Dream11 for four years and watched the platform drift toward multi-sport coverage. Vikram Subramanian had built the broadcast-grade live scoring engine at Flipkart. Karthik Rao had scaled Paytm operations through hyper-growth. Together they founded T20Sports Authority Private Limited in March 2023 with a focused bet: a T20-only fantasy platform could beat multi-sport competition by serving serious T20 fans better.
We have grown to 2.4M+ registered users, 184 employees across three shifts, and Rs 180 crore in payouts. The platform covers 14 tournament formats including IPL, BBL, SA20, CPL, T20 Blast, T20 World Cup, and 6 bilateral series. We publish quarterly transparency reports on responsible play, win distributions, and bonus abuse prevention. The future roadmap includes Series B funding in 2027, white-label licensing to other T20 markets, and a multi-language UI in 5 Indian languages by January 2027.

We focus only on T20 because deep specialisation wins: our prediction engine is trained on 38,400+ T20 internationals and 6 IPL seasons, with venue profiles for 92 international T20 grounds. A Test-match specialist engine would dilute our edge.

Our editorial team operates on three principles: accuracy over speed (we'd rather be late than wrong), explainability (every pick comes with reasoning), and independence (no compensation from cricket boards, franchises, or broadcasters). Every article cites its data sources — readers can verify every number. Corrections are issued with dated notes when source data updates.
